I am just looking for some suggestions from others because it seems my rigs don't work all that well. Where I fish It isn't very deep, maybe 10-15 ft at deepest. I have to fish from the bank, and every inch of the bottom of the pond is completely covered with this curly grass looking stuff that is about a foot high. I have tried the sliding sinker rig which doesn't work because the bait slips under the grass stuff to where the fish cannot get to it. So any suggestions you think would be helpful are great, where I fish it's pretty windy, I don't know if that would be a factor. -Landon

Try a slip cork rig with a bobber stop makes for quick adjustments or a santee cooper rig with a float to keep your bait out of the weeds.

Slip float. Set at whatever depth you want.

About all I use for channels right now is a thill slip cork, #6 or #4 treble and my home made dough bait. Once the fish go deep I will go to a no cork set up and fish tight line straight down off the boat about one turn off the bottom or where ever the fish are showing on my DI. For deep water bank fishing I use the Santee rig and float the bait about 12" off the bottom. Doesn't hurt to have multiple setups and fish them all at once to see which are producing. Don't be afraid to fish right against the bank either. Fish tend to run the banks shallow when feeding.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
