Are there any worries about running the lake?
How do I get there from Lake Fork Marina?
Directions to the ramp?

You can run the south end of the lake. Mid lake there is a marked lane to get to the north end. Do not go outside of the marked lane. Once your through the lane, you can run straight back to the bridge. You might want to watch someone first. From LMF you would take FM 17 to Alba. Travel to US 69 to Mineola. Stay on US 69 until the intersection of US 80. Take US 80 East to FM 2869. Once you're on FM 2869 stay on it until to reach the lake. There is a boat ramp to the left of the bridge or turn right at the bridge onto CR 3440. That will take you to another ramp at Taste of Italy. That ramp will place you almost mid lake. Any other questions feel free to PM me!

I have launched and even camped at the county park, it was nice and kept up well. Launched at Fish Hawk Point ramp (is best my opinion) this is where the restaurant is located. Have eat there twice just to eliminate 1st time disappointing experience, will go to town before doing that again. The lake is open from that ramp east and south to the dam. From that ramp east is the timber area and there is a boat lane through the creek marked some what but recommend idle through the buoyed area and be careful going northeast out of the buoyed area toward the 2869 bridge aim toward the middle. Northeast of the bridge is idle only there are a lot of timber on the north bank to the middle of that area. Haven't been out there in a while but this time of year has a lot of jet-flee traffic. http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/hawkins/access.phtml

Beautiful and tough lake to fish! At least that was my experience. Caught one 2 lb bass and one pretty darn big Chain Pickeral. My finance caught a couple of 1 - 2 pounders fishing from the doc at night on pink swim baits. go figure.
be really careful if you venture off the lanes and into the coves. I got high centered just idling, twice, and had to get towed off by a nice stranger on the dock.
