Nice catches, but carp are not predators and don't have tough mouths like predators.
Pliers like that will damage their lips.
At the sizes you show here, it may not permanently damage them, but as you approach 10 lb, and especially over 10, you can permanently damage their ability to feed themselves.
Try holding them horizontally, with both hands, to ensure you don't damage them.

i know its not the best way but if you know how slippery they are to handle to get them back in the water the fastest this is the best way.
show me another way and ill try it.

I have to disagree that it is safe. All carp anglers handle carp like in the pictures about from Sherwood. I am sure sure every carp anglers on this site will agree that pliers in the mouth can be very harmful to carp since their mouths are soft. I know they can be slimy, I used to carry cheap mechanic gloves with me so I could get a better grip. Just a thought. Nice fish though.

a fish hook in the mouth is quite a bit more damaging. yes ive handled them by hand too but to handle them by hand you have to let them lay in the net till they quit fighting or youll drop them 10 times trying to handle them.with the pliers there only out of the water for a couple minutes.

Nice fish btw! Carp are very hearty...except for their mouth area. You 100% never want to put pliers on their lips to pick them up. Like others have said, especially when they get over 10lbs..you should hold them horizontally for the picture. Most Carp anglers reel the fish in, leave the fish in the water in a landing net (my carp net can hold a human...lol..) for a while until you're ready to take the pic. Then simply drag the landing net to the shore, take the fish out, hold them for the pic and release. The fish will be out of water only for a very short time period. But I totally agree the smaller Carp will flop all over the place, the larger fish don't flop as often.
