Ok, I have an Avet single speed SX, a newly ordered MXJ-MC, a Shimano TLD25 and an Avet exw 50. My plan was to move my SX from a Trevala to a Seeker 7' casting rod with 20# mono. Put the MXJ on the Trevala medium action spooled with 25# mono. Leave the TLD 25 on my medium heavy Trevala with 40# mono. After looking at the MXJ when it arrived today, I noticed it is a small spool reel very close in size to my SX. I am trying to build a versatile arsenal. So my question is should I try to trade the MXJ for an MXL(bigger spool) or trade up to an LX and run 30#? For context, I am going on an 80hr trip with Dolphin Docks out of Port A next week and plan to try some surf, jetty, pier stuff as well. I haven't purchased my surf rods yet so feel free to chime in on that as well. Any advice at all about this or in general about my set ups is greatly appreciated!

Ryan

Buy a release SG instead! It will fit 500 yards of 50 lb. braid and has 30# of drag for half the price of an avet MC Raptor...just saying
