This time of year I personally like intimating bait-fish. White or a Summer Sexy Shad Color are a couple I like.

White with a white trailer in clear water and in stained water I've been throwing a black and blue.

I love to throw the chartreuse/white color in sparse pads.

We still have a lot of Bluegill up shallow so I like to throw the V&M Pacemaker Swim Jig in bluegill (best skirt I've found that matches real bluegill) with a swimbait as a trailer.

Shad colors in clear water; but it is all about the trailer. I like the Yamamoto swim tail worm for the trailer. Just shorten it down to get it 2 inches out past the skirt.

Swim jigs have a conical shaped head with the line tie at the nose of the jig head--so they can be swam through grass without catching as much debris. The heavier swim jigs with stouter hooks are also great for flipping. They also crawl and gently glide off the bottom also, but with the line tie in front, there is increased risk for line abrasion on rocky bottom surfaces.

Clearer water, I'll go single tail boot tail grub shad and blue gill colors
Muddier water, I'll want to displace more water--flapping craw black/blue/Okeechobee
