I used to be able to produce with Black Grape under all sorts of conditions and bodies of water. Since it's no longer available in Utale (Mother F'ers) for a dark color, what's your go-to non watermelonish color?

I tried Tequila sunrise with no success (found it on a forum somewhere)

I've read Plum and Junebug are favorites so I was debating between the 2.

What's your battle tested color for utales?

Red shad has without a doubt been my most consistent color for overall variety of conditions. June bug, tequila sunrise, and motor oil are my other go to colors as far as consistency in different conditions.

in the Zoom color scale...Plum and Motor Oil are the others I use....Zoom has taken a back seat to the other big companies as far as colors go IMO....

Blue Flek in Power Worm is hard to beat in just about any water color....Robo Worm Aaron's Magic as well....dynamite.

Whatever you feel confident in. Truth be told bass cant see 4k different flakes and specs.
Pick out what matches your forage ,water, and sky conditions. Soft plastics especially is all about confidence.

Went through a pack and a half of motor oil/ big red flake this evening. Working good for me. Well. Anything darkish with red flake. Throwing weightless and letting it sink/drift with the strong south wind into a choke point at a creek entrance. Caught 20 or so each evening since last Friday. One was 7lb 1oz. Most in the 2-5lb range.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.
