And what about the Eco boost 3.5?
Looking on getting something but can't deciede between f-250 6.7 or a f-150 3.5??? Just tow my boat. Have a 38 ft fifth wheel but it set perm at the lake. Don't know if I'll ever pull it..
Suggestions????

If you ever move that 38' 5th wheel, a F350 would probably be your best bet. For a boat, either would work fine. Just because you own the fiver, I would get the 3/4 ton.

250k is what they are rated at. Duramax was also 250k rated and the Cummins was a 350k motor.

But with that said, they can all break at anytime or could even last longer than their rating.

Id say it largely depends on what you are wanting to do with it.

If you drive it back and forth to work and tow a small boat, a lot more miles than if you hook up a fithwheel and don't unhook it.

In your instance I would go with the eco every time. Everything is cheaper and it will abundantly do what you need. If you do have to move the TT deal with it then, Sounds like where you have it is a permanent thing.

I'd go with a GM with the 6.2, I'm averaging 20 with mine and it pulls my 30 foot 5th wheel with no problem.

Just depends on how certain you are that you'll never need to pull the 5th wheel. If you're 75% sure you'll never need to pull it, then I'd get a 3/4 ton (don't necessarily have to get a diesel though). If you're 99% sure you'll never need to tow it, then get a 1/2 ton for sure.

From the sound of it, I'd get an ecoboost or GM 6.2 and worry about pulling the 5th wheel if you need to.

For just the boat, I'd consider the 2.7l ecoboost.

I wouldn't buy a 6.7 if was the last diesel on earth. I have only seen 2 make it to 200,000. The rest blow before then. They keep my pocket book going with fishing money.
I would buy a Cummins or Duramax. Duramax has came along ways.

I'm not a mechanic and I don't know very many mechanics but I do frequent many forums so I'd have to think that if every 6.7 Powerstroke was blowing apart after being in service for the last 5 years we would be reading more about it. I think I read someplace that Ford was selling more diesels than the Dodge or Chevrolet, seems you would read only negative about it since there's so many running.

Not to mention ive seen several 6.7 PS's listed for sale in the 200k neighborhood. As well as ridden in a few early model 11/12's that had 200k+ on them. Past the early failures in the bigger trucks(larger than 1-ton) I haven't heard many negatives at all.
