I just curious to see what everybody runs when they fish a jig, I don't fish jigs hardly at all but I'm definitely gonna start fishing jigs a lot more and try to master the art of jig fishing. If anyone has any advice on jig fishing I'm all ears, I appreciate it.

I fish a jig on a dobyns champion 735 or a dobyns DX795.

I use a Dobyns DX 784 ML rod, Shimano Core 100 reel spooled with 15 or 17lb. Invisx fluorocarbon.

Ugly stick .... 6ft MH with 20# Suffix

7ft heavy bass pro bionic blade micro, hi speed curado spooled with 20lb big game.

Heavy casting rod several companies make good ones

Man this is probably gonna sound like overkill but it works for me,
I have 3 jigs tied on all the time on 3 setups:
Dobyns 784 with a Football jig
Dobyns 735 with a Brush Jig
Dobyns 766 with a Grass Jig

I stick to a five power rod for most jig fishing. I use the KLX 7'3" Jig/Frog/Creature bait rod and it does a great job of casting a long distance, working the baits with ease and getting the hook set. Just avoid a rod with too much tip and it will be a good jig rod.

Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch usually. Lighter jigs get the Diablo Spec R and really heavy jigs get the Flip rod or the Leviathan.
