Yesterday I went to Lake Athens with my cousin-what a crowd! At one point some cork soaker on a jet ski came into the area we were fishing and literally rode every bank edge, grass patch and Lilly pad bed doing spins and all kinds of [censored]. It took a minute for us to realize that he was purposefully trying to ruin the area for fishing. After stirring up our cove he went to the next over and we could hear him doing the same thing over there! I've never seen anybody do anything like that before, and it wasn't like there was no clear water to ride..

Not new on Conroe.... Back when we still had hydrilla in the lake Billy Mills, while filming a fishing show, lost a crankbait that he stuck in a PWC operator's PFD when he buzzed buzzed Billy's boat. The PWC didn't come back.....

Well I guess since I so rarely fish public lakes it was just a shock. Ridiculous behavior at best..

I can't stand 99% of jet skiers. They're fun to ride, but when I have ridden them in the past I always wanna be out in the main lake. I just don't get it.

Bout two weeks ago the final breakdown of my basscat had me extremely angry, and this guy on his pwc came within 15ft and did a cute little donut nearly throwing me off of my lil boat. Two more close passes and my inability of being a good mechanic just pushed me way past my wooo-saaah point, and the fourth pass for the pwc-pimple found a large crescent wrench tumbling straight at his ankles. I played ball pretty well and knew that at that close of range I'd hurt him so I just tried to put a hole in his clear coat. With success and he departed without a word

Man, That stuff don't catch fish. But having it, and putting the time in does! You get out of life what you put into life.

Years ago I had a jet ski harassing me on Lake Lavon, repeatedly running between my boat and the shore. We had called the GW and he said he was on the lake. After his second pass, I had a ski rope and threw it where he had passed betting he would do it again. He did and sucked it up into the impeller. We started laughing at him and told him he got what he deserved. About that time GW showed up.The kid was screaming and raising h***. Gw started explaining to him the law, the punk is still screaming and cussing, then asked if he had been drinking. He ended up getting tickets and a trip to the pokey for B.U.I. Fishing was slow but we were entertained by the idiot. Still ended up being a good day!

Do you guys carry USCG-approved flare guns? They are a great deterrent for jet-skis. The British Virgin Islands Government makes anyone carrying a PWC on their vessel declare it just like a firearm. You have to cable it to your vessel with a seal and show it to the Marine Police before you leave their Territory. They understand the situation.

Why can't the TPWD & local authorities make a very public example of some of those idiots and get the point across? I have an acronym for them: IDJITs: Idiots Driving Jetskis In Texas

Two things> 1. Common Sense 2. Respect

If people had more of it there wouldn't be many problems on the water with others. There is plenty of room for the jet fleas and fishermen. If only they both ALL had common sense and respect for others.

Me and a buddy were fishing a point on Cypress Springs about 15 years ago. Here comes a kid on a seado. He's coming right at us. Its getting close and he's still wide open. Ed and I dropped our rods and were about to jump the opposite side of the impact when the kid did the power spin throwing a huge wall of water all over us. He sped off around the point and off we went after him. He vanished. No telling which boat house he went to but he had a good get a way plan. Once we realized we wasn't going to catch him and once we settled down a little we just laughed it off. It was a kid about 16 years old probably on a dare. The little [censored] pulled it off. I still remember what he looks like.

If you're ever on Athens and somebody does stuff like that contact the lake patrol 903-203-8401. Bill Mcgee the lake policeman is a kayaker and will take care of it.

There is a practice that is commonly displayed in coastal tournaments called "burning". It is doing exactly what you described. It got to the point that some large commercial sponsors pulled their sponsorship from some teams proven to be practicing it. Often the competitor would get a buddy to trail and burn his competition or just randomly burn areas his team would not be fishing.

I have had problem with drunk wake boarders on HUbbard. I keep a lead slab with a treble hook on it in the top of my tackle box. You can sling it like a bullet. Just be prepared to follow up at the boat ramp if you need to.

Maybe if there was a wakeboard forum that we could go to express what's going on. We could let them know what's going to happen if they come within so many yards of our boats at full speed. If something like this ever happens to me. I will be carrying a paint gun and will use it. Then hall a-- home. Lol

I haven't had to much trouble with jet-skis, but the big wakeboard boats are a royal nuisance....it never fails I'm setting the hook when they come rolling by and I go for a swim. I guess I oughta stop standing up.
