Got my new Hummingbird 998 w/ di and si for the first time. Things I saw were incredible, Found a rock pile in 28ft water topping at about 15ft. Had white dots all over. What was I seeing?

Take a screen shot next time. On DI, white dots are usually fish.

White dots are fish, also big gizzard shad will show up as white single dots too in a school.

That's what I had heard, White dots meant fish. Its lake Corpus Christi...I don't think we have gizzard shad. But don't really know. The white dots were above and down the sides of the rock pile.

White dots are fish, also big gizzard shad will show up as white single dots too in a school. Same with big bluegills. I've seen some insane stuff on the DI out on Ivie. There used to be massive schools of bluegills in that lake, some where the AVERAGE size would be over 8 inches.

Split screen it with 2d sonar and you can see arches that will corelate with the "dots"

They're fish! Now practice, and learn your graph more and you'll figure out what species of fish by the way they're set up on the cover/structure. There are plenty of youtube videos on this!

I hate screen shots like that. I think it ought to be mandatory to have GPS coordinates attached.
