Was on Fork Wednesday night, Full Moon. There was a Big Gator, looked to be 12-14 laying on a private boat ramp warming is belly right where we were fishing, He could care less about us. scared

Came back by about a hour later and he was gone, kind of glad I wasn't in the Yak, although I will be soon.
Sure wish I would have had a good camera and enough lens to have got a good picture, it was a awesome site under a full moon.

Where is Whitacre when I need him anyway! sleep

A 28 year old man was killed early this morning when he took a late night swim and was almost immediately attacked by a gator. This was at a private marina (with posted signs warning to stay out of the water due to earlier sightings of an 11-foot gator) along a bayou extending from the Sabine River in southeast Texas near the Louisiana border. The man had received verbal warnings to stay out of the water before jumping in.

I'll soon be fishing fork at night in my small pontoon with a green light. Gators really worry me, as I'm not familiar with them. I don't worry about snakes or other varmints but a 12 foot gator coming by with me in that small boat will be really scary.

I normally fish non gator lakes. For my part, they could exterminate gators and I'd be happy. Guess I'll just need to see if I can round up fishing buddies for a night fishing trip. ( maybe there is safety in numbers)

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Would have been awesome. I was sleeping while you were catching 11.5 lbr's and chasing gators. Work, Work Work

I don't know about exterminate but I think a gator that large in an area where humans live shouldn't be allowed to stay. Either the state should remove them or someone needs to covertly eliminate them.

I don't have all the answers, but I'm a quick learner!

Driving to lake fork is more dangerous than swimming in it.

Yeah, but he's eatin' something. Or someone. And you're right. They were here first. Just keep your eyes open. we're the intruders.
