Any? How many trips are booked at the 3 slotted lake in Texas, Lewisville, Richland Chambers. And Waco?
Blue Catfish trophy fishing popular? Is there any FULL TIME TROPHY Catfish guides in Texas who can make a living without resorting to hybrid and stripers guiding services to supplement their income?
Trophy blue catfish popular? If so there should be plenty full time Trophy Blue Catfish guide services. No?

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Between the spawn and flooded lake, blues are spread out everywhere!! Seems like everyone is believing the media that the lakes are closed!! Had a customer last week that wanted cats. Got a couple of slot fish and a couple of gallons of fillets.

Difficult to catch trophies all year long. Like Tom said spawn, new water, and the heat has them spread out. A lot like trying to catch big striper and hybrid in the dead of winter I would think. We are finally catching a few good ones that have came off of spawn.
I know I'm looking to catch big ones every time I leave the dock. Every slot lake has trophy guides in the winter. Twok has lots of trophy guides during the winter.

Every time I leave the dock I'm looking to catch the biggest baddest blue in the lake. But like Tom and Blues was saying, kinda hard this time or year.

Got a couple of slot fish and a couple of gallons of fillets. Understood the flood and big catfish season, eater sized catfish can be caught year round minus a month or so during spawning season... I'd like to clear the air for some forks, my two posts on Lake Lewisville in no way are intended to call out Tom Gravley or any body in particular. I have serious doubt and actually think slot hurt catfish guide business on lake Lewisville. A Google search on LL trophy catfish guides bring up only 4 guide services, and only two are based on LL, Bobby Kubin and Tom Gravley. I'd like to ask Mr Kubin some questions on LL because he has guided a lot longer than Mr Gravley who just started full-time guiding a year or so ago. But might as well put this questions here, because it appears that Mr Gravley is the only active catfish guide on LL. 1. Do you think LL achieve the HIGH CATCHES rate goal of the slot blue catfish? 2. Does slot help catfish guide businesses at Lake Lewisville? Please give examples. 3. Without going to other lakes like Tawakoni, how many catfish guides can Lake Lewisville fisheries support.

Was hoping some Waco guys would weigh in on the slot regs there. I thought I was reading reports from Waco with good results since the slot but could be wrong.

I cant speak for Lewisville but Waco seems to be getting better every year for both numbers of eaters & big fish.

Guess I'm confused this post - you posted in this forum announcing "The King of the Lake Lewisville Catfishing Guides" and now you're asking who the beat guide is??

King Fosher, the questions above are not about guides, they're about whether Lewisville slot limit helping catfish guides business or not. It doesn't look like it is helping.

I personally think the slot might be helping. It will take awhile yet to know for sure. Seems like the 20/30lb class fish are picking up. Forties and larger not sure yet. Last season 3/60's, 7/50's, 8/40's on Lewisville but I didn't come back to Lewisville till the end of March. As far as helping guides, cat fishing can only support a couple of full time guides just because there's not enough people that want to come here vs Twok, cooper, CC etc. just my two cents.

Cooper, Twok, CC, all none slot, 25 bag limits, 12" and up, yet all three of those lakes produce better fisheries than LL. Of course people enjoy fishing those other lakes more than LL and those lakes can support a lot more guides business than slotted lakes. People are willing to drive extra distance to fish those lakes, thats said plenty. You took your clients to Twok last winter, that makes LL Zero trophy guide in 2015 season. 6 years and going, it doesn't look like helping the trophy catfish business.

Bankfisher 50, just curious, how many 40,50,60# class fish did you release last year or catch?

Bankfisher 50, just curious, how many 40,50,60# class fish did you release last year or catch? On 3 different trips in 2015 Cleaned a 45#ish blue released all small catfish... Cleaned a 30s and 5 3-5 lb blues Cleaned a 30 the only fish caught Lest you're saying like I intentionally target big fish, that's not the case. (Thought, you were asking about this year, last year, released a few blue catfish from 15 lb up to 30#ish, don't remember exactly how many kept but not too many because I had plenty of eater sized catfish and hybrid fillets, didn't need the big fish.)
