Talk to Jay Kendrick. He guides on Cypress (as well as a number of other east Texas Lakes).

Buddy (Bob Gross) fished it last weekend and said he could not get bit on the jig, but everything else worked. No big fish over 5 lbs, but lots of spots, says you can throw anything and catch a spot, time and again. Said there were schools of them waiting to bit the baits, except the jig. Jay's a good guy too, so you can't go wrong with him. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
