I know belongs in another section but bass fishermen are reading this section faithfully.
Question: Which of all the bass boats have a gas tank that runs the length of the boat and NOT all in the back end?
Makes sense to me as a balance point.
Surely if one manufacturer has started doing this, others have or will as well
Anyone???
God Bless

Pretty sure Triton does and the Legend V20 does not sure of the others.

I have a 30 gallon tank in the rear of my rig. Stratos...the boat sets obviously 'low' in the water when the tank is full...along with the weight of engine/tackle/batteries/etc.
Would make a lot more sense, IMO, for the gas tank to 'distribute' the fuel all along the bottom of the boat.
Wrong ?
Just have been thinking.. roflmao 30 gallons is a LOT of weight...
God Bless

30 gallons is a lot of weight. That's why it needs to be in the back so the boat will run right.

My previous Basscat Pantera IV had one that ran side to side under the seat (2004) plus I had the saddle tanks in the rear for added fual, my Puma FTD has split gas tanks in the rear.

'Balancing' a bass rig seems to me anyhow with these big and heavy motors now especially, seems a really important deal.
A fuel tank running from front to back just seems to make sense. If more or most of the manufacturers are not doing this, then there must be reasons as to why not.
So, Nitro/Triton and Legend are the only ones now manufacturing that type of a rig?
Thanks for the feedback
God Bless

Gasoline weighs 6.3 pounds per gallon.
6.3x 30 gals= 189 lbs

I'd be thrilled if Skeeter put the filler caps on the same side.LOL

I think in general you want most of the weight in the rear half of the boat

my tank is under the seats

I think space under the deck would be limited, then yhere is the issues of baffles to keep it from rushing forwards or backwars which would also affect the trim of the boat. Sure it can be done but could cause more problems. The traditional tank is probably much easier to design and wouldnt need to be reconfigured with different layouts. when taking off or running on plane, the fuel would be forced to the rear anyway

My 2000 Triton is side to side under the seats. 32 gal and pretty flat. bilge area at back of boat is pretty open.

I would have to say that one reason manuf. are doing this is also ease of maintenance. When you can replace a gas tank on the back of the boat, beats the heck out of pulling a top cap, or how else a person would access a hull tank.
