I have an academy ethos 7'3 xh. Paid $50 on sale. Throw a frog from about April til November then it's a a-rig rod. If I'm really on a solid frog bite then I switch to my Amistad because it is a little more enjoyable to fish for hours on end.

I have an $80 St Croix Triumph, been the best Frog rod I've owned. Its light, strong as nails, and has decent enough guides to hold up to braid. Its rigged with 65 lb braid and a frog year round... the only other thing I've used it for is a swim jig in HEAVY cover situations when I just cant make em eat the frog. Ask anyone I fish with, you have to pry the frog rod out of my hands to get me to do something else.

I cant tell you how much money and time I have spent with different Frog rods. Loomis, St. Croix, yada yada. I like the freaking skeet reese 1st gen rods, what I use now, ( bought two before I want to Caddo a few years ago and abused them, had them ever since ) and I like the action on it. My tourney partner has the same issue, he went thru several expensive rod. Had the red rojas quantum rod and loved it, they stop making, and he broke it. Went and got an H2O rod on sale, and swears its the best frog rod he has ever had. My point, find the one you like, with the action you like, and stick with it. It does not have to be the most expensive rod in the box.

I use the Shimano Crucial 7'6" Med-Heavy Flippin' rod. Great tip, strong, made for braided line, and you can throw tx-rigs, c-rigs, and jigs, also. I keep a frog rigged year round, and have the matching 7'6" heavy action, for a-rigs, matted grass, 65 lb, braid. I think they're still just under $200.

I bought the Kistler Frog model for like 150 and LOVE it!

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.
