Hello TFF Bass Fishing Fans! At Lake Fork you can expect to catch some large bass when you can find areas of baitfish combined with the right time of day/weather conditions. There are fish to be caught in both shallow and deep water. On cloudy days focus shallow with squarebill crankbaits and walking style topwater baits on timbered points or near boat docks. On calm sunny days following a front I recommend flipping a 3/8 oz jig to main lake timber and docks in 8-12 ft or cast frogs around shallow pads for catching topwater bass in the shade in 2-4 ft. Good lily pads can be found in Glade and Williams Creek. You can also go offshore on these sunny calm days in 15-30 ft and search for baitfish, once found use a watermelon red worm on a dropshot with 2 ft leader or green pumpkin worm on a 3/16 oz shaky head and light line. If windy and sunny break out the extra deep diving crankbaits and football jigs for some great offshore action. I like to stick with shad pattern crankbaits in clearer water and bright colored baits in dirty water/timber. For my football jigs, I prefer natural colors like brown on bright days and darker colors like black with blue flake on windier days or in dirtier water. For more quick tips on how I like to fish a football jig and which retrieves I use the most check out the video below! As always, thank you for watching and I hope this helps you catch more fish on your next trip. Tight lines my friends and good luck out there!
