I'm not sure there is one made that I would give a seal of approval to. At that price point you are pretty well talking about disposable equipment that you may get a season or two out of.

Academy has their H2O Mettle real on sale sometime for $40. They also have some rods for around $50 or $60. Maybe they will ha a July 4 sale? I would go this weekend and see what they have.

Lews has a $99 combo. It's the laser rod and reel. The reel is decent. The rod feels very weak. That and the orra combo are what seem to move off our shelves. But the orra combo is $129.00

The Diawa Lexa has been selling cheap $60 to $70 and I have few and had no issues so far. I have a couple bps rods they work but not as sensitive as more expensive rods. Carbon lite and extreme. Make sure you read diections for the reel so you understand how to set it and get a huge backlash. Plus maintenance. Used is a great way to go as well. You want all aluminum frame no composite. Plus the reviews on bps if sorted by expertise can be helpful

Don't let the ABU haters fool ya most of them have not owned one in the first place and go by just hear say. The ABU pro max can be bought on Ebay from $50 to $70 and is a great reel. I bought my son 8 of them and he has had no problems at all and I paid more for the Revos and have had to send 2 back for repairs. If you are fishing fresh water this is a great choice but not for salt water use.

Ive repaired plenty of Pro Max's, even bought one off ebay that was mis built (not put together right). So I wouldnt say they are that great. They are a decent reel for the money but with the all graphite frame they will flex and that can cause issues with the gearing. Oh almost forgot, repaired/cleaned one of my buddys pro max's that a screw inside the reel came off or was not put in correctly. So thats 2 mis built Pro Max's ive seen.
