Just a heads up to those of you who fish it. Apparently the college hired a new cop who is a prick about people fishing. I got stopped over the weekend and ran off by this new cop. He tried to tell me fishing wasn't allowed. I said "really, since when? I've fished here for over a year, almost daily and so do several other guys"...he says "I bet you've never seen a cop then"...I said "your buddies usually drive down to the water and hang out and talk with me while I fish!!".
I left and went back the next day, saw a usual cop and he said it's not even a policy and told me he has no issue with it. Apparently, the other side of the lake (the side that runs against O'Conner and the side that has that dirt road) is actually owned by the golf course, so if you're on that side not even the newbie Northlake Cop can do anything about it.

My brother and I got kicked off of there a few years ago because our cars were parked down by the water. They said that it was private property. The cop asked us why we opened the gate and he didn't like our answer that it was already opened. He then asked if we were drinking. We were right there between the highschool and northlake. Is that the spot you were saying is owned owned the golf course?

Yes the area on the side of the highschool is not Northlake property according to the cop I talked to. However, if you pull in and drive down that dirt road along side the water on that side, you will prob always get ran off. I've seen Northlake cops call the actual Irving PD to get people off that road. That road is used by the golf course landscaping guys. I park at the tennis courts at the actual campus and walk down to the water. That's where most guys park.

Oh okay, that makes sense. Yeah ive seen some good bass pulled from there on TFF. I wanted to go back but haven't since that incident. I will give it another shot now that I know. They don't give tickets for not having a parking permit or do you need one for that parking lot?

I have a northlake sticker on my car because I used to take classes there, but they don't mess with anyone. The general pop can park there and use the tennis courts so it's not required.
