Solid yellow has been working best for me for a while. Caught a bunch of toads on pepops wizzard jig yesterday afternoon off deep water brush piles

I've had good luck with (bad shad) grey/black and (dr Hyde) cinnamon chart. Have those tied on year round for nearly any ETx lake. Great color for clearer water.

Say el, to what ATM97 said, and following a similar trend last year (though this year has been considerably different than last where new water is concerned) as Spring turned into Summer & the days got hotter & the sun more intense, the combo jigs that were killin'um from the pre-spawn, began giving way to the bright, solid colors like my Wizard Summer Heat & even my Orange Julius (Hot Fire Orange, head to tail) And the deep brushpiles probed with these jigs produced some mighty good fish. My next outing will be focused on those deep piles (if dock shooting fails that is LOL!). We'll see.

BTW, Welcome to the TFF David! welcome cheer

The grape limeade was indeed killer in the spring and early summer. Whats this orange julius you speak of Vernon?
