Bankfisher50, do you think there is room the the catfish world for just trophy hunters? Should nobody go after strictly trophy fish? Do you wish everybody would just be happy with some eaters and a big one every now and then?
Just wondering, you seem a little bias when the word trophy comes up. There are a lot of folks that think trophy hunting is ridiculous.

I just have a different Def of the word trophy. E.g. 10lbs at some lakes can be a trophy, not at TWok... so instead debate with people I just don't use the word.
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

A couple of thirties and a forty should have yielded approx 35# of fillets which should be approx 70 meals. Most people don't need much more than that a year.

You know bank fishing at Tawakoni means Catfishing 80% of time, it's blue catfish actions what makes twok my favorite. Having said that I don't get the idea of a personal best, I enjoy a 10lbs 20 lb just as much as the 50#... but they are not trophy, close to lake record is trophy. Don't make sense is it?lol

I eat a little. When I figure a fry a mixed group is 1/2lb per person, men's group 3/4lb. Haven't ever ran out of fish.

Banker why don't you keep fish 10 and under to help with the trophy class fish. Your cleaning 30# fish and all which alot of folks especially guides turn back. So again your post isn't clear on your intentions!

Trying to compare a metroplex lakes to East Texas lakes is not really a good choice. The east Texas lakes can hold more pounds of fish per acre than most other lakes. I have noticed an increase in 30" inch fish being caught on Lewisville the last couple of years. I don't think Lewisville will ever be a Twok.

A few years ago when guys like this posted a lot this place was loaded with info, reports, and fish pics. The new guys don't know what they missed out on. This place got too caught up in drama, advertising and bs. Glad to see you lurking.....

I miss the old days where you could actually get on here and see something other than my bait is better than your bait. A quality thread with a report and pictures is hard to find now.

They are coming!!! The lakes are starting to settle down and the fish will fire back up!! I believe we call that Winter , Tom! Looking forward to seeing more of those good informative posts on here again as well guys. Like Tom said the water dropping should help out a lot . Been a little tough finding good space on the bank lately and will be good to see the ramps opening again. Still lotsa good info on here and tons to look back on through the years. I personally learned a lot on these forums . Thanks fellows.
