Hello Everyone. I'm new to this forum and I was hoping to get some tips. I've have recently started fishing Turtle Creek @ Lemmon Ave since I live so close. I haven't had any issues catching little brim on a jig, but I'm really looking to catch some bass. Can anyone enlighten me on some other good spots to fish on Turtle Creek and what lures have worked for you. The water is a little muddy but starting to clear up. Has anyone fished on the other side of the net that crosses the creek? Any and all advice\help is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

The red area is the only portion that I have fished since its right next to the parking lot.

Chris

I've fished the pool on the north side of Fitzhugh where the big water overflow hole is and have caught some bass. Try a weightless senko or a small spinnerbait. A topwater popper would work well early or late.

Thanks UT. I'll have to give that area a go. It looks a little more open then where I had been fishing.

Ive gone back a couple of times and had a few good hits with a spinner and frog. It seems like once you get a hit in an area the fish get skidish and move away. Maybe I should start covering more ground.

You can walk around that entire pool pretty easily. Report back on how you do!

@UT - So I tried out that spot you recommended yesterday. That's defiantly a great spot, much better than where I was trying. I didn't get to fish it for long last night and only caught one brim on a crank bait but I has ALOT more action. I also had a good sized fish on with a little frog lure. We fought for about 20 seconds and he spit out the lure. Unfortunately the frog lure only has 2 hooks coming up from the sides and I guess it makes it difficult to get the hook set.

Thanks again man. I will defiantly be back to this spot. It actually feels like your fishing a big pond and not just some tiny canal.

@UT So I've fished that spot you mentioned 3 times now. I had some success finally on Saturday morning. I caught this guy. I also had a nice sized bass on the line but he jumped and shook the hook off.

Very cool update, thanks for sharing. I haven't gone to that spot but passed by it a couple times. Glad you're getting some success!

Another place you might want to try is back down by Sylvan & Blackburn. If you park in the lot, then cross Blackburn north and walk a bit there's another spillway type pool just under the bridge. Might be worth a throw or two. The other spot is one another person here pointed out, that if you keep walking north on the sidewalk, eventually you'll come to a grassy area with some trees that opens to a pretty large pond like area. There's a couple houses across the way and a gazebo thing, so you'll know it when you see it. Could be pretty deep, might be a bit of work to throw through the trees though.

Keep at it!
