I skipped church last Sunday to guide two of my coworkers down the Colorado river on their first ever kayaking adventure. Since my daughter is about their age helping these two young women is not a foreign endeavor to me as a dad. To tell the truth, I have found that women are easier to teach than men primarily because they actually listen and follow instruction better.
Even though I was fully prepared to rescue these two from whatever the river held in store for us, neither would need much in the way of help.

The fishing was awful.. not one for the whole 6 mile float! That's a first for me on the Colorado.. The river is running full and stained...

The first step is to get them on the water and kayaking.. then comes the fishy part next trip!

I also believe women can fish hard too. My girlfriend has been fishing with me now for the last year and has many serious catches under her belt. Several cats over 20 lbs and at least one over 30 lbs. King fish, spanish mackerel, 8' hammerhead, three solid 26" striper. Its great to share the sport with female or male, the more the better.

My wife loves to kayak and fish. I think women may adapt to kayaking easier than men. At least my wife was. She is more organized than me so properly loading and storing gear was much easier for her.

My wife out fishes me the majority of the time. Lakes, rivers, creeks and the gulf. She does it all.
