If you hook them in the tongue they usually don't get off.

Man, That stuff don't catch fish. But having it, and putting the time in does! You get out of life what you put into life.

That's the best way to hook them this way when you turn them loose they can't tell their buddies what's going on. roflmao

My Boater in ABA on Tyler hooked one in the tongue and it died. Never bled but it died. I also hooked one in the tongue that day and she was fine. Not sure what the difference was.

I had no idea either until now. I know it didn't bleed and it swam off just fine but I guess I'll never know.

I had a discussion with Ralph Manns about tongue hooking a few years back after I had one bleed out from a tongue hook. There's a major vein in the tongue and if you hit it, they bleed out in minutes.

2 weeks ago, we had one in the tongue again. It looked like every time it's heart beat it squirted blood out. You'll know if you hit the vein.

Every bass I've seen tongue hooked that were in the well for more than a few minutes died. I dunno why, but it seems to be extremely fatal to them. But it's part of the game, not a lot you can do about it.

Yup. Bleed or Not Bleed- I have very poor survival rate for tongue hooked bass. If anybody every figures out why then please let me know!!! thumb
