Since owning a boat, I've never been on Eagle Mountain. Open to run on main lake?

Also, if coming from Denton, is Lakeview Marina the best place to launch or would someone recommend another ramp on the northeast side of the lake?

Lake view or Harbor Marina, yes the lake is wide open to run no hazards besides maybe a strangler floater.

Lakeview will be your best option. Lake is mostly open. The only thing I'd watch out for is floaters from the flooding, but I think most of those are gone.

Best ramp on the whole lake is Twin Points 10 dollars not your 15 and 20 dollars and lots of parking if you there early to fish. Lake is fishing like a new lake right now with all the new water and growth with the lake being so low for so long.

Yeah, I was a little surprised at the $20 launch fee at Lakeview.

By fishing "new" do you mean fishing "really tough?" That was my experience. Not knowing the lake and launching at Lakeview, I stayed pretty much on the North half. Might should have gone south, 'cause the water mid lake and north looked awful. In 4 hours I caught one dink. I had plans to stay the day, but decided to cut my losses and get off the water early before even more skiers showed up.

Yeah, the north end of the lake is pretty muddy still. It gets better down toward the dam. The last time I was there you could see a clear demarcation "mud line" just north of the dam.

Water is clearing up on the S and fish are starting to wake up.

DON'T get the idea that all the floaters are gone. There are still some "monsters" in Big and Little Carter that will probably show up with our next good rain. CAREFUL and CAUTIOUS are the words of the day.

I've been throwing the "ned rig" except I have the hooked skinned and they really jump on that little 2.75" bait. Lots of fun.

Went yesterday evening and caught 5 little ones on the south end near harbor one. Water is still really dirty. Will be a while before it clears up. Caught all my fish in shade pockets
