So the wife is off next Saturday and I may have her convinced to get out on the water.

I know all lakes will be busy with it being the 4th, but I feel like the trolling only lakes will be our best bet.

I know of Wheeler Branch in Glen Rose and then Purtis Creek in Eustace, along with a few up in Sherman.

I've heard Cleburne State Park is but I haven't personally seen/been there.

Leading towards Wheeler Branch due to location but looking for any recommendations or where we can find the info.

Mineral Wells SP is another one you may check into, it's a nice place.

White Rock Lake and Bachman Lake are limited to like 4hp or less motors and no wake. Only boats are usually the rowing club chase boats and they don't make big wakes.

Mineral Wells is not a no wake lake. They open them up there sometimes.

That is true but there won't be any jet skis or skiers on MW so it's not as bad...just a suggestion.

True they are only fishing boats and the wake isn't bad. It's a beautiful lake and my wife loves it there. I think experiencing some wake is a good thing. It's the only way to learn that it's nothing to fear.
