I have a Mercury efi 225 and I believe I have a problem with my ignition switch. When I turn my key, my motor starts. When I let go of the key, my ignition key moves slightly and shuts my motor off. If I turn my key and hold it, my motor will stay on. Also, when I turn my motor off, I hear a strange spinning like noise. Not sure if that is related to the ignition as well. Also, my electronics on the front of my boat has been turning on and off. Works great sometimes and not so great others. Would that have something do with it. My boat was recently worked on and left in the rain because they left my boat cover off. That may be the reason my ignition is sticking along with many other problems I have fixed on my own.
Any help on where to start will greatly be appreciated.

I would change the ignition switch. Not hard or expensive. PS disconnect the battery when working on this, even spraying graphite in it.
