Got there Saturday at 6am and was surprised the plant was running. It was a perfect cloudy morning so we started shallow and then fished deep until noon and caught 3 it was tough and water was 100! We had lunch and got to Fork at 3 and once again she saved the day we caught 10 and 30 sandies out deep.

The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

That pic of Monti is incredible! Don't let Obama see it, he will use the EPA to shut her down (again) if he saw all that steam coming out of there.

But seriously, that is a great picture.

oh do I wish that were the case. I did see the Supreme Court did their thing to the EPA today....only 4 years too late....hundreds of millions have already been lost on that deal, not to mention all of the jobs it costs people. Rant over.

From a purely selfish fishing perspective, I was hoping Monti was gonna be a "normal" lake again, but if this ruling sticks I could see it returning to the old days of being heated year round vs just during peak usage months like it is this year. Those fish must really wonder what to think when it goes from 40 degree water in Feb to 101+ in June/July/August.

A friend of mine that lives on Bob Sandlin (Bog Gross) said they are running 3 stacks now, so the usage must be HIGH in this summer heat. In Lubbock, we are lucky, as it hasn't hit 100 yet. We are mostly in the low 90's because of all the moisture we got has set up a relative humidity haze on each day and it is in the high 60's low 70's, so it feels hot. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Yep Thad - they've had the big one on the left in that picture running full time since some time in May but they are now running all 3 most of the time. When I went out there Saturday, only the one was running 1st thing in the morning then by late morning they all appeared to be running. It's HOT out there to say the least.

Yep I honestly can't say I know enough about this ruling or the pollution vs economic/energy loss aspect of plants like Monti to comment on it, but the angler in me really liked how it was fishing this spring when those fish were acting normal and biting good all over the lake, not just 1-2 areas like sometimes is the case with heavy generating (at least in my experience). Then again fishing that 80 degree water in January was fun too...

SCOTUS actually helped us by telling EPA they can't use inappropriate and unnecessary regs for power plants. That is very good for electricity prices. Like regs that cost billions to institute but only have millions in benefits. They failed miserably in some other decisions.
