Hello all,
First time post to the yak section. Jumping right into it --- my wife recently went back to work after 14 years as a stay at home mom. She�s in sales, and won a drawing. Nice little Old Town Vapor 10 Angler. My three boys were so excited I believe they all sharted at the same time.
Not knowing much about yaks, what advice can yall give me concerning storage (no room in garage� no other options but outside)?
I was thinking of building an A-frame set up of some sort, and covering with a tarp.
Any warp issues to consider (heat / cold)?
General maintenance I need to be aware of?
I realize these are probably dumb questions� but I prefer to check with this group. I�m sure there are some folks on this section with more knowledge than the standard manual.

You definitely want to keep it out of the sun. I keep mine in the garage and it holds up just fine in the heat. My garage doesn't get all that hot.

The only dumb question is the one not asked.

UV will fade it and heat can cause warping even in the best of boats, if you cannot store it out of the sun at least get some 303 and rub it down to protect it from the majority of the suns harms. Pad whatever you decide to store it on with pool noodle to reduce the chances of warping/cracking and turn it upside down and space the cross members you put it on so they are on flat surfaces of the kayak if any are available.

Hang it from the garage ceiling.

^This. They make pretty simple to use ceiling systems where you just use a pulley to lift it up.

I actually just used 4 eye bolts and two 20' cam straps with S hooks to hang it from my garage ceiling. I'm able to hoist it up with the straps and it sits flush against the ceiling so my garage door can still go underneath it.

I have a small amount of open space (ceiling / walls / etc) in the garage.. think border-line hoarder here�
Regardless, these are all good points and advice. Yall gave me many other ideas / options to consider (like getting rid of some garage clutter):).
