Wife tells me that a guy at powell park on Rayburn Saturday. Took his grandchildren fishing. With the water so high they got into some trees and disturbed a "WASP" nest. I"m thinking hornets. Well the bottom line is she said he died trying to protect the children. From a report by a friend on face Book today.

My home lake, Lake Wood, is more of a wide spot in the river and trees overhang almost all the banks. During the summer, a guy has to be real careful due to the wasp nests. I have seen red wasps nests up to 8" in diameter.
Snowflakes and entitled brats will be the doom of America!

That's scary since when I was a kid we would take a sack and knock a wasp nest into it and close it up with some gas in it to kill the adults. We would then use the larva for fishing for bream. We got stung some but it was good bait. Looking back I guess were to dumb to know better.

Update:
Turns out he had a heart attack, but it was due to the wasp stinging him so much.

Trinity between Lavon and Hubbard also bad. Both paper wasp and hornet. Cut the line and move on.

take you a spray bottle with some water and liquid soap. It'll kill those things. Use this all the time at the ranch.

Always hate reading news like this. Prayers up for family and friends of the deceased. I do a lot of fishing from the banks and the most important things to remember is know your surroundings, and always keep looking a head.
