I always fry bluegills, but want to try baking some bluegill fillets. Do any of you guys have a fairly simple recipe you would recommend? Will appreciate any replies.

I've also been looking on the Internet for baked fish recipes and can use one of them if no one on this forum has one to recommend. Just thought I'd ask, thinking maybe someone might have one that would be better for bluegills specifically.

Oven baked fish are hard to beat. I have a very simple recipe. Preheat oven 400 degrees. Dip fish in egg mixture and then corn meal mixture. Use butter or Pam to coat a baking dish or pan. Place in over until golden brown. You can also add spices to your cornmeal mixture if you desire. Put some lemon on top of fish after they are done. Simply FANTASTIC!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Marinate Bluegill in a lemon garlic butter mixture. Spray a baking pan with Pam and bake em until golden brown.

Banker and Laker One, just what I was looking for, very simple recipes. Many thanks. I'll cook some both ways.

directions
1.pre heat oven to 450
2.in a small bowl prepair egg wash.in a separate bowl mix together bread crumbs, parmesan cheese , and thyme.
dip filets in egg wash then press into crump mixture to coat.place filets in glass baking dish, and drizzle in melted butter.
3.bake on top rack of preheated oven until fish flakes easily, about 15 mins.

Zatarains Bake & Crisp for Seafood, tastes as good as fried without the grease.

Here is what I do for any type of fish to bake.
Preheat oven 400. Place fillets in foil packets.
Coat fillets with olive oil
Liberally sprinkle fish with black pepper and garlic salt.
Put a little lemon juice on them.
Slice a Fresh jalapeno and lay on top of fish.
Close packets and bake.
For bluegill fillets will only take 8 to 10 minutes to cook.
Enjoy
