Has anyone been there lately? If so, how's the water level and general bass fishing?
I've been traveling the last month and will finally be able to get out this weekend - any other recommendations appreciated - thanks!

The water level is still high. Not bad though. The bench at the boat ramp was still in the water to give you an idea. The water is really stained. Brown colored not from mud but possibly from the decaying brush that was around the pond before the flood. (Clear/brown if that makes sense.) Fishing was slower but it took me time to adjust to the color of the water and I got there about 4pm. "Those are my excuses."
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input.
I need to get out, so just getting on the water again will be good -

Update -
I fished from 8:30 to 12::00 this AM and only managed to get 2 bass. Both were in the first hour so I'm assuming the morning bite was better.
The water was high but not too bad - easy to launch from the parking lot. Water has a light brown hue to it, not stained but a tint like quality as a lo 109 stated in a previous post.
I'd fish it again, but early morning or evening.

I'd fish it again, but early morning or evening. Im assuming today was your first time there? Launching from the parking lot is not the normal for Southlake. I was there this morning as well and the water was as high as I've ever seen it. The dam drain was completely under water, boat ramp and bench seat were completely under water with the lake half way into the parking lot by the boat ramp. There was 20+ feet of water between the bank and the dock with the water all the way up to the walking path. It had dropped quiet a bit from the time I got there at 6:45 to 10:45 when I left. It was a crazy sight

This was my second time fishing there. My first time was back in April and the water was near the top of the boat ramp and there was a small grass area to the right of the ramp.

Fished South lake today with RobMoe we both did pretty good I posted my catch in the bank section in the community lakes post. I ended up with 5 bass and 2 warmouth. FYI almost all of the lily pads are gone out there... my only guess is the water level changing so much killed them off this year.
