A ton of wild and hold over fish have made it. Saw several fish rising so a few bugs have made it. Hopefully once the bug life is restored with the help of restocking of bugs. The wild fish population will explode there is a large stretch of river that looks to be perfect spawning habitat a perfect freestone stream. The massive pile of gravel at the bluff if they can get some equipment in to move it down to narrow the evening whole again they have the material right there. And it too is all wonderful spawning substrate. I thought there were going to be bait chunkers all over that stretch but there is a wall of trees 7-8 feet high at cold hole that stretches for 30 yards back. I hope they leave it because they were way too lazy to drag their lawn chairs through the maze and pools of water and small streams were lost Creek used to be to get there lol. There is a small stream of water running through that lost Creek area if there was a desire to do it once they cut the water back I think it could be restored to a point. Although I'm not sure there is reason to with the improvements to the Bluff area. With the heat the first and last hour of lite were really good tapered off a bit shortly after that and then substantially as the heat got worse. I broke two really good fish off in the 18 to 20 inch range but managed quite a few fish in the 1315 inch range. A lot of weird fish in there after they open the gates saw a walleye caught and I caught a 3 foot needle nose gar on a size 16 pheasant tail in the mouth lol. They get a few more vibert boxes of brown eggs they will have a great shot. I think they might have an area a lot like the white river where reproduction is very successful! I will probably wait until the fall or winter now to go back but I had to see for myself and it is incredible.

I went there Saturday for awhile. As I'm still nursing an injured foot I couldn't fish much, but I was still able to view Spillway at a couple of places. It is indeed amazing. It's like a small mountain river now what with the vegetation and bank soil cleared aways back from the streambed. It's quite gorgeous. Impossible for me to get around on the fairly treacherous bedrock with my busted foot, but I had to see it.

Cold Hole and the old Red Zone section, I have no idea how they'll come out looking once they get through clearing and repairing. It's good to hear the fishings still good, but I think that's inevitable with stocking and has little to do with streambed conditions.

That's great yea my buddy had only fished the sandbass run. He caught his first trout ever. Saturday morning the bite was fast and furious at first light then dropped out. I had another friend up there as well even though we didn't get to fish together much. He and his wife got into them in zone two as well.

Yeah Robert, wish we could have gotten together and fished, too. I didn't really fish except briefly. My foot which was broken earlier in the year still won't allow much rough walking. Mostly my wife and I drove around and looked at what we could from the road.

Yea with all the trees and rubble I'm sure it slowed you down. Hope it heals fast to get you back on the water.

Thanks buddy! Good fishing! I think BB should be pretty good this winter. Maybe we can meet up. I usually go on a weekday though by taking a vacation day about once a month, usually the last day, like Jan 31, Feb 28, etc. BTW, reports are that the Island in Z2 has been pretty good. I think more people are discovering it.

There are fish to be caught but def not the numbers previous to the flooding!!! Caught several walleye as well throwing big flies hoping for some browns! Good report Robert. Since I've been helping my daughter and son-in-law get their house ready for move in (over 2 months now), I've been catching bass, crappie, bluegills and sunfish. How about an 11.5" red eared sunfish?
