Most of the sporting goods stores sale one of the plastic boats. For example, a Sun Dolphin Deluxe, a Pelican Bass Raider, and a Uncle Bucks Pond Prowler. Is there any one of them that is noticeably better than the others, or are they all about the same? If you were in the market for one and found any one of them on sale, would you take it, or hold out for a particular brand?

I have an 8' baby bass hunter and it is awesome. I got the 8' because it has tall edges to keep me from knocking rods and tackle over the edge into the water.

Pelican 10E here. got it on sale.

Today I fished with another forum member, who was in a "Twin Troller". real neat setup with 2 "inboard" motors, he did not have much problem with the weeds.

I have the 10foot bass hunter ex.

Wished I'd got the baby just for the high lip. I've lost rods overboard twice. Got them both back but still.

To the question the Bass Hunters are by far the best. The only ones I know of that are roto moldd and therefore ONE SOLID piece not two pieces like the others.

Thus leaks are about impossible. The two piece ones will get water in between the two pieces at some point.

They are more expensive but well worth it.

I dearly love my 8' Bass Hunter Bass Baby. I trailer it into the water, so have never used the build-in wheels. I carry as many as 12 rod/reel combos, a heavy battery, a net, small ice chest, lunch box, paddle, boat hook, 2 mushroom anchors, and what seems like half a tackle shop with me when I fish. Many times, I've fished all day on windy days with one battery and a MinnKota 30, and have never had a problem. The 'boat' is stable, although I seldom stand up in mine. I added a nice bass boat seat and carpeted a 3/8" marine plywood false floor and shelves, and the added weight only added to the stability. I carry mine on an Aluma 6' utility trailer with no problem; it only hangs about 14" past the back of the trailer. For ease in backing, I've added two 'arms' covered with pool noodles and lengthened them with LED lights for ease in backing the trailer in the dark. I pull the rig with a Subaru Forester. It's just phenomenal how many more quality bass I catch from this little 'boat' than I ever did from my Hydrasport!
