I'm headed down to Port A on July 11. I'll be getting in an 80hr trip out of DD on the 14th but I ant to do some fishing before and after that trip. I have done some basic stuff on the coast guard pier and the Charlie Pasture pier but just screwing around mostly. I'm looking at surf fishing and jetties this time. Would like to target King, shark, and reds. Not really fishing for the freezer so just want some sport and release. I will be taking some bass gear as well as a couple smaller Avet reels and a huge Avet 50. Planning on picking up a surf rig or two as well. Any advice, tips, tricks, do's and don'ts you guys can share would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh and if any TFF guys are going to be there let me know!
Thanks again, Ryan

We just got home today fished 21-26 surf was kinda rough the first 3 days but we could get out to the 2nd sandbar with only a few jumpers.. We threw 1/4oz jig head with gulp shrimp in new penny and rattle traps caught a lot of lady fish, 2 nice trout 17-18" I didn't get a good pic that did it justice You can see my buddy right behind it dorcel fun just a little speck out there 1 really nice smack and 3 big whiting.. Able to catch mullet in the wade gut in the morning and we were able to catch a few gafftop and small black tip on the surf rods on cut mullet and ladyfish.. Lady fish seemed to produce better then mullet.

Thanks for the feedback! That's basically what I am looking to do. I am not taking it all serious but I do want to catch a few fish while enjoying a few on the beach. Do you think we will have a problem finding an area on Sat/Sun to surf fish? I know the hotels are all booked up like crazy so I imagine the beach will be fairly crowded. Oh yeah and nice Ranger shirt! Thanks again!
