A family friend's son has been asking me for a while to "go fishin", so we hooked up and went to RC. Boy can this kid talk! lol! He asked a million question. "What kind of fish are in the lake?", he asked. So I went through the list. Then he proceeds to tell me he wants to catch all of em. smile
We did everything, but as soon as we caught a few fish he was ready to move on to another spot and another type of fish. First time in a long time that I've actually left crappie biting really good, but he didn't care. He wanted the next "species" on the list. Caught crappie off brush and bridge. Caught sandies off top-water early and slabs deep later. Even caught some catfish. A good trip for only a few hours on the lake. His list: black crappie, white crappie, yellow bass, white bass, hybrid bass, blue cat, channel cat, and even a drum. He insisted on weighing EVERY fish he caught, and it was all I could do to make him start throwing the sandbass back. Not bad for his first time on a "real lake" as he called it. smile
Take a kid fishin! You won't regret it!

Eric, you may have just got the next Bill Dance or Kevin VanDam into the fishing scene. Or maybe a DW. Who knows. Got job giving a kid some memories he won't forget.

Nice work sir. You may have given him more than a fishing trip. Kids today need a love for fishing and the outdoors more than ever. thumb
