Just curious, how do high skies/bluebird days effect your approach? Would figure early morning, until sun breaks the horizon, probably not at all. But once you get to say 10:00 are you moving deep right away at this time of the year and focusing on main lake points and humps, or just sliding from shallow to 10-15 ft? Assuming a steady barometer.

I would say when the sun is high, I would look for boat docks and heavy vegetation cover if I was looking shallow...If I was looking deeper I would locate fish first with the graph and fish that depth on structure that will hold fish with a good presentation, try to get one to bite (on balance the mid day slow down is unavoidable)and excite the school, then fish with something more efficient in the excited school. What I would not do is get caught in the middle, we all know what that does for you...nothing.

Find the shad balls, fish under them.

The main thing I change is the speed of the lures. I put away crankbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, buzzbaits, anything I'd typically "cover water" with. Frogs, plugs and poppers are still in play because they still move pretty slowly in a linear direction. I'll stick with using beaver-style baits and jigs worked around cover and swam through scattered stuff. If I'm on a deeper lake where fish commonly hang out on humps and underwater points, that's where I'll focus the rest of the day. If it's a murkier, shallow, lowland lake or river, I'll look for anything that can create shade (docks, laydowns, vegetation, etc) in shallow water. I grew up fishing Wright Patman near Texarkana, and those fish never get deeper than 10 feet because the lake is so murky, even with 90+ degree water.

I do a lot of driving and graphing on these type of days. Finding the bait is the key and I will follow my pattern of retreat to deep water. Using the side scan I will check the last bushes on the lake that has held good fish in the past. If there are fish in them then they can be caught on the 10 o'clock hour as mentioned above. I never just up and move from shallow to deep. I am always going to check the second drops for fish.

When fishing deep, sun encourages fish to school closer to each other. If you can catch one and ignite a school, the odds of more fish seeing the action and getting activated is better.

I typically graph and find Shad scattered everywhere on days like this. I don't drop the TM until I see the Shad balled up with fish beneath. Those are usually more active fish. If the Shad is scattered, the fish will move along with them, hanging around until they're ready to feed. Spend more time finding active fish by graphing.

Depends on the wind... High sky days with no wind can be brutal sometimes... But if you have wind it can be deadly! I would rather fish in 20mph+ than slick water conditions anytime of the year.

The prettier the day, the less likely black bass are to bite. It's the first amendment in the constitution all fish are governed by. Florida's are real sticklers about complying with that law.

Based on, wind, water color, cover, and what the bait is doing. Have to take all into consideration and see what plan you can get together to get a bite
