My throttle sticks pretty hard at WOT and I have to pull the hotfoot back to idle with my foot. I disconnected the throttle cable so I could figure out if it was the HotFoot or cable and both work freely when disconnected. I THINK that as the Hotfoot goes down in an arc motion it is torquing the end of the throttle cable making the metal throttle cable connector piece bind on the brass throttle cable piece end. I do not see a way to adjust this to prevent it from happening. The hot foot has been on the boat since I bought it in 2005 and it seems to me that the problem is getting worse.
Has anyone else run into this problem? And if so how do you resolve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jason

I would suspect too much travel causing the binding. Cable is stretching or you can adjust the cable shortening in at the motor and resetting the full throttle stop.
