I'm sure this has been asked before but I was not able to find it. What braided line do you like to throw in 40 to 60 lbs test. I spooled on some Spyder wire that I bought at Academy on a new reel and tried it with a 1/2 oz swim jig. The line seemed like it would dig in to the spool when reeling in or would dig in when casting. All I know for sure is when you would cast it, it would hang up and really make a mess. I originally was setting this rod up to fish an umbrella rig that I bought. I'm looking to put something else on. What do you all like in a braid. Thanks.

I use Power Pro 50lb. When you spool your reel, make sure to use a little mono backing then put the braid on TIGHT!!!

Power Pro. Avoid Spiderwire. It's junk.

Sunline FX, and any braid has to be wound tight.

For a swim jig my advice is power pro 40lb test, you can cast it a MILE. Or samurai braid 55lb test, it is probably the better option actually but more expensive.

Power Pro 50#for me, wife uses Suffix 50# Braid 832 says it doesn't dig
into itself, better casting, and fewer backlashes.

Anybody throwing braid on a finesse type Texas rig? I use copoly now for finesse but considering giving braid a shot on a spinning reel set up just to eliminate breaking off due to line abrasions because I am terrible about re-tying.
