Just bought this new $1200 unit today and upon opening the box I noticed immediately that they did not send the wireless remote for it. No big deal I thought...I will just call them and have them ship one out because I probably won't use it much anyway. Proceeded to install the new unit which was not too bad of a task but then realized there is pretty much no way to run a transducer cable neatly on this unit because the shaft slides through the bracket so no cable tying option there. Found a so so option I can live with until I upgrade to a networked HDS. Then to top it all off the wireless foot pedal would not sync to the head and this is when I discovered that you must have the wireless remote to reset the code. Needless to say I am not very impressed with this right out of the box. I will call Motorguide tomorrow and we will see how that conversation goes, I am not optimistic that it is going to go well.

Well this is definitely gonna prove that I'm a dumb arse but an apology is owed to Motorguide and everyone on here that may have read my post and possibly had their opinion swayed. I called Motorguide about the issues and with outstanding customer service here is what I found out and hopefully this post will keep someone from making the same mistakes I made.
1. The product description is a little confusing depending on which site you go to as there are three versions of this unit. A.) wireless foot pedal B.) wireless foot pedal w/wireless remote C.) wireless foot pedal with pinpoint GPS remote I thought I was buying option B when in fact it was option A that I bought.
2. Transducer issue still exists but I do understand this unit is basically built for networked electronics so it works ok for now.
3. Per the manual I was trying to sync the foot pedal to the unit and hear the beep telling me it was synced. Apparently it had already been synced from the factory so that explains why no beep. The reason the pedal never worked is because there is no power to the trolling motor until you actually deploy it. Like any other trolling motor I was waiting for the prop to spin while it was stowed.
Hats off to Motorguide customer service who calmly diffused a relatively angry customer situation. Sorry for the confusion everyone. Unit appears to be working flawlessly now.

It takes a big man to admit wrong the way you did. At times we all have jumped the gun before we understood the issue. I am planning on buying one but I want to one with the integrated sonar and GPS.

I fished today with the new trolling motor and I have to say this thing is sweet. The sensitivity of the pedal takes a minute to get used to and it is so quiet that you will swear it isn't running. I can't wait until I get the front graph upgraded so I can network everything together.

Sounds like an improvement in Lowrance's customer service? I would have bought from David, at shut-up-and-fish and he would have made sure I was ordering what I wanted and could have answered my questions with one quick call to him. It's great having a guy that interceds with the factory for you and he is great at it.

I am not sure what you mean....it was Motorguide customer service that was great. I did not call Lowrance for anything.
