Im looking at trying to book a trip around Port Mansfield, Just by looking at the map, you have to drive a good ways to get to South Padre or am I missing something?

It's a fairly good trip by land to padre island. You might want to think about Arroyo city for fish base, much quicker to the island from there and fishing is just as good. Capt. Andrew should see this and give his advice.

Fishermans lodge in Arroyo is my favorite all time place to stay.
