Why should you get a refund? It's not the marina's fault the lake is flooded. Think how much money they are loosing with all the high water and lake closed. Lots of problems like this in other places too. My Marina at Grand Lake, Ok has not had power in almost a month due to the flooding here. It's a pain this summer but these lakes don't flood every year. Lots of good things will come from all this rain we have had just be patient. thumb

Sir, I wonder why you think that someone doesn't "deserve" to get a refund back for not being able to access their stuff? May be more to the story like if the boat is actually still stored there just can't access, etc. But to me anything I pay for as a "service" I expect that service to return what they offered. If the cable company doesn't have signal for 2 months would you "not" expect your $$ back?? Or the gym you attend shuts down do you just "want" to keep paying for nothing?? If you own a timeshare you "expect" to get to use it at least once a year and if not I know I would want my $$ back!!

I agree that flooding affects everyone differently and if the original poster can use his boat elsewhere he shouldn't be forced to pay for something that he isn't getting to use. The best marina we have here on the Red(Red River South) has flooded badly this year and while the main store is "ok" all the cabins and short term rentals were flooded and will require repair. I know they have insurance for stuff like this but it will still hurt overall. Agree to disagree I guess lol.

If its closed to ALL BOAT TRAFFIC, then the Kayakers shouldn't be able to use it either, and does this include those that live on the lake with their boats in the water. ?

Wow, closed for the rest of the summer? Did they give an exact date? I'm wondering what will happen if we go into a Texas summer dry spell and don't get any rain for 6-8 weeks.

The way the article reads all Corps of Engineers facilities are closed, privately owned ramps are available at the discretion of the owners.

"High lake levels and the waves generated from boat traffic also posed another concern for lake shore properties. As a result, boat ramps and facilities operated by the Corps will be closed at the following lakes:"

We aren't considered a boat if we are manual powered. No different than being allowed on no wake lakes and the like.

I think the news station is just sensationalizing the story they will open up again as soon as the water comes down I'm sure.
