Got a 10 acre tank on my property in central texas. It's well stocked with bass, perch, and blue cats.
I've been a bass fisherman my whole life but I have gotten really into the catfish game lately.

How deep of water should I be fishing this time of year?

What is the Best time of day?

What are some things I should look for in a good spot to fish?

The tank had a one side that is much deeper (about 30 feet). The other side is an average of 7 or 8 ft with tons of islands we built for fish habitat. The deep side has a long shallow bank that drops off deep. There's some good tree structure throughout the tank too.

I have seen some blues in there that are likely over 30lbs and I'm excited to find them! I appreciate any input!

Would love to fish that...catch and release of course. That being said the temperatures are rising now not sure what the water temp would be on a 10 acre lake but I'm think from the 10 to 20 ft range would be about right.

Early morning and evenings probably your best bet but midday fish your shaded and heavy cover spots you've made.

Should they be done spawning then? They move back out deep? I think at some point someone has told me some false info. I'm not sure who to believe anymore haha

Blue cats go deep after they spawn, channel cats stay shallow almost the entire year in most lakes. And I second fishing the 10 to 20 foot depth range first, and then maybe even the deepest part of the lake on the hottest days. Use live and cut perch since they are native to the tank

Highly doubt you'll have to worry about blues spawning in a 10 acre lake. Assuming the primary forage for them is sunfish/crappie/small bass/minnows and what not, i'd start with sunfish and/or large shiners. Fish cover, weed edges, underwater structure.. maybe. I've caught some pretty big Channels and flatheads in private lakes and a more finesse type approach worked best for me, for the bigger fish. Maybe try a balloon rig and let it drift down a weed line or fish where it necks up at night, on bottom. Cut and live. Also don't be afraid to wad up and entire hook with 5 or 6 fat nightcrawlers, or the same with grasshoppers.
