My son and I were at Cedar Creek till about 1pm on Saturday. We had a blast! We started at Key Ranch. Fished there for a couple of hours, then off to Merimac. We caught a total of 124. A couple of hybrids and yellows, but mostly whites. I had planed on not staying that long but it's hard to stop when you are having fun!!! We kept about 25 and threw the rest back. Can't wait for my next day off. I'm ready to try my new anglers choice electric filet knife that I got for Father's Day!!

Merimac was pretty hot around mid day when I got to it. Seemed like it didn't matter what you threw, or how you threw it. They were feeding on top and holding on the bottom as well. We caught good sized whites on a Mepps #4 and a chartreuse little George, threw a white slab for a while but only caught smaller fish with it. Didn't quite put up your numbers but we left with 34 in the ice chest.

You can kill a fly with a sledgehammer,
But do you really need to son???

Saw you out there, I was the white Nitro, I was trying Mepps too, but had some equipment malfunctions, ended up using an old reel my wife uses with about 50 feet of line on it! Funny, I started there in the morning ,and saw nothing on the graph, so ran out to spillway hump, caught a few, then back to Key Ranch, and saw you guys about 50 yards of my waypoint mark, tearing them up. That was on happy kid I bet!

Oh yea we were right there next to you! I think we just happened to be right on top of them. Yes my son was very excited!! That was our personal best. Last year we had caught in one trip was 77. A friend went with me a couple of weeks ago and caught 100 so he was determined to beat that!! He said we could stop at 101 but once we got there he changed his mind. It was great.

No I sure don't. I have seen several people fishing under the caney creek bridge. But I'm not sure if they do any good. We fish out on the main lake. Deeper water.

My wife and I have had some luck right off main lake or secondary points (windblown) in the evening, schooling sandies and smaller hybrids. If you can find that with public access, and wade along the shoreline, that might work.

There is a fishing dock near the boat ramp on the bridge between Seven Points and Gun Barrel City. Free I think.
