I'm certainly no expert, but I have been there many, many times. My favorite lake. PM me with where you are staying on the lake, and I will try to help from there.

I do not know if you plan on fishing the Texas or the Louisiana side. The Louisiana side is more of a lake and the Texas side is more of a deep swamp. There are more Cypress trees on Caddo than you could pitch in a lifetime. Usually acres of lily pads for frog fishing or pitching. Get a lake map and follow the numbered/lettered telephone poles. Beware of the numerous red wasp nests!

Caddo is an awesome place to fish. Be sure to take your bug spray. The mosquitoes will carry you off!

Does anybody know if the hwy 43 launch is open? Can you still run the river? I know there was a time earlier this year they would get onto you for it.

Will be staying at the Mallard Inn on Big Cypress Bayou in September. I hope the water has cleared by then.

WATCH THOSE RED WASPS!

We've stayed there a few times. Bev and her husband are good people. When you leave from her cove take a left once it opens up ease over to the right - lots of lilly pads, tie on a frog and get after it. If top water bite is on you will have a blast.
