Have a good friend whose parents have a place there and they have caught several bass in the 8-10lb range. Few summers ago they caught three over 8# in July alone and they only fish spinnerbaits.

It's a lake that's been on my list to fish for awhile. Really up the river and the backwaters more than the lake. I'm just scared of taking a fiberglass bass boat on it. It would take forever to idle everywhere...and I'm sure not going to run lol.

I forgot it can be very dangerous also in the narrow river part. I had 2 very close calls with idiots on the river that shook me up pretty bad. One boat came shooting out of the creek in front of me and another came around the bend of the river at high rate of speed between me and another boat going the other direction. Two people died there last year from a boat collision. Also don't fish the backwater during duck season.

It's high enough right now with them unloading all that Rayburn water you should be fine driving around there. If you're on the river

I ran the lake a lot in the 80's but mostly when I got on a duck hunting kick. Fished it some and especially got on a good summertime cypress tree pattern. The Forks and Bee Tree Slough area is unique and stunningly beautiful. I go to church with some guys that regularly crappie fish it (in the River).

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
