Me and my Uncle Larry decided to to go out at the spare of the moment yesterday and try to hunt some hybrids in the middle of the ( hot as hell) day! Haha we checked all of our spots with lots of fish being marked with nothing to show. We finally hit em on a hump next to a creek bend in 30 fow. It was game on! All fish were caught on big slabs and sassy shad. Caught some really good ones! All fish were released to become 12 pounders one day! My uncle has been fishing the lake since the early 70s and he knows everything there is to know about big hybrids and mother Hubbard! So glad I have him to teach me everything he knows!

Nice report! Your uncle looks familiar. Think we chatted a few times on the lake. Think he told me about those "12 ponders" be caught over the years, in the middle of the day, peak heat and deep waters. He goes by "Lee" or "Ray" also?

You probably have seen him. He's been fishing Hubbard since the early 70s and knows the lake better that anyone I've met. He just goes by Larry. Fishes out of a older ranger.
