hey guys I fished stillhouse three days this week and only had one bite. I was fishing out of my kayak so I mostly fished wind protected creeks and coves and points in and around the marina area. I tried texas rigged worms, flukes, lizards and craws, spinner baits, top waters, shallow crank baits and deep crank baits. My question is am I missing it on the choice of lure or color or are the fish just not in the area? In three days I fished some really good looking spots with only one bite coming on a top water frog. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We bowfish out there ALL the time, and see some nice bass out there! But I have heard that with the water back up out there that it's really hit and miss. The best spot I know of is out by Dana Peek Park near the flats. When you come out of the park head east for about 200 yard then just shoot straight across. You should be able to tell. I don't know if you have tried thay area or not but worth a try.

Thanks for the help I will give it a shot. I have catfished in that area but have never tried bass fishing over there. I was thinking that I was not in the right area that it was not an issue of lure color.

I haven't really fished there just Bowfishing. I usually stay with Belton. But I'll talk to a few guys that do the weekly tournament there and I'll get back with you!

Stillhouse can be tough. When I fished it four or five years ago, the key was covering water and/or finding some grass.
