Well, I'm tired of waiting for Buchanan to fill up. Was wanting to try Brownwood but know nothing of it besides what I have read online. Looking for a good, hopefully not too crowded crappie house or place to kayak for some slabs. PMs welcomed and thanks in advance! Opinions on other lakes around Buchanan are welcomed as well...

Good people and great food at the Duck as well! The fish have to be around there because the dock always has people fishing on it

I'd definitely go try it, but if I'm not mistaken that's like 3 hours from me in Lockhart. What about 2-2.5 hours from Austin?
