I am new to crappie fishing but really would like to catch some. My problem is I only have a aluminum boat with a trolling motor. Will someone give me some places to catch crappie this time of year that is accessible with my boat or on bank. I do not want to take the boat out very far from shore for safety reasons. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thanks...

Tyler can be fished from a small boat, what you need to do is go look at the lake from your car. There is also a crappie barge that fishing is some time good. Palestine I would check out the same way starting down at Chandler.

At Palestine a good bet would be to put in at the Flat Creek public ramp on fm 315 on the west side of the lake at the bridge. That big bridge is easily fished with a small boat and holds crappie most of the time... Sorry no guarantee they bite all the time tho. Good fishin.
