Best option for the charger and batteries? Leave it plugged in all the time or plug it in top the batteries off and unplug? Had a problem last week and mine started overcharging and blew some fuses and actually burnt some wires. Just glad I had it at the house and not my boat storage, I just happened to walk out and see it smoking. I now have a new NOCO Gen 2 and just curious as to opinions of others.

You may have problems other than battery charger if it blew fuses on the boat. If nothing was turned on in the boat no current should flow from the batteries no matter what the voltsge. b

If I'm not fishing or hunting I'm hunting a place to fish or hunt.

It blew the fuses on the charger which was a Minn Kota 4 bank, I was told ( by a Sheeter Dealer) that some of the older ones ( mine was an 08 )were know for this. Think I'll just top them off and have a 7 day time to come for a couple hours before the days I normally fish. Thanks guys.
